Journal
I decided to type my journal on my old blogger which we started back in first year. This was started in one of my core subject classes, it was a requirement to join Gmail and start a blog. Now it is a requirement in third year to write a reflective journal on our professional practice.
I find writing especially in academic style a hard task and I prefer to take photographs, so this will also be uploaded with photos, but a requirement is to have at least 1500 words in the journal. When I see 1500 words on a assignment it totally freaks me out and I straight away I begin to get panic thoughts about the assignment rather than just looking at the assignment and working my way through it and then see how many words I have written. No. I just freak out straight away. I must admit I don't feel as bad as I did back in first year. But then again first year I tried to accomplish the unaccomplished for myself and I enrolled in 5 subjects!. I wanted to do a subject to help me on this task of writing academic so I enrolled after I was already enrolled in my 4 subjects already. The subject was called Effective Writing to assist me with my writing skills. Unfortunately it all got to me in the end and I never finished the last assignment so it is regarded as incomplete on my academic listing. This journal not having to be academic style is a relief, but grammar needs to be good and my punctuation is not, as I seem to put too many commas where not needed. I have learned a bit about this in my subject but I still have a bad habit of adding the commas in the wrong areas.
This subject is called NM3001 Reflective Practitioner. It is a core subject related to the course Bachelor of New Media Arts. My major for this course is Photography and my minor is Illustration.
We have just started back for the second semester of the year. However I have yet to have a break as I had a block subject called Photojournalism and then another block subject when that finished called Drawing Portfolio. So I am starting to feel it, and feel overwhelmed creating assignments and studying. I just have to get through this next 6 months though and then I will have finished my three year course. I am very much over studying at the moment as prior to University I went to TAFE for two years to receive my diploma in Visual Arts, which gave me the accreditation to be able to study at University.
Even though I do not have a job, as I am a full time single mum as well as a full time student, I do believe this is a accomplishment in itself being able to study for the past five years. I feel I am ready to finally attach the work force again. If I am successful that is to gain a job in my chosen industry of the Creative Arts.
As soon as we were told we had to produce a portfolio, I started to work on this straight away as this is one thing I feel I am good at doing. Well there are so many pre template pages online, you can make your porfolio on. I probable have a few already, but only small. So when another class member mentioned the one he is on, I had to check it out and see what it was like.

and this is where I have started to create my portfolio.
